Here are some of my favorite verses:

In the begining God created the Heavens and the Earth -Genesis 1:1

Then Jesus said to his disciples “If anyone would come after me he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will find it”-Matt 16:24-25

I am not ashamed of the gospel because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the gentile- Romans 1:16

Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him- James 1:12

Therefore I urge you brothers in veiw of God’s mercy to offer you bodies as living sacerfices, holy and pleasing to God-this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is-his good, pleasing and perfect will.- Romans 12:1-2
